I am looking to begin my career as an FA hopefully in a training program with one of the major banks but would like to move to the West coast for a few years to change scenery before doing so (am on the East coast). After 2-3 years of establishing myself and building a book of business, I'd like to move back and start a family. Can I bring my book with me, is this a feasible endeavor if I stay within the same firm? I am willing to dedicate serious effort to being a successful FA but don't want to stay on the East coast for much longer, I am in my mid 20's and want to broaden horizons before returning home. Another possibility is to start the career here, move and then return after a few years but the same question remains as to whether the book can be moved. Need some advice please
