I was arrested and stayed overnight. The next morning i signed some documents and they let me out without having to pay bail. It was criminal and they set a court date for 3 months in the future. I was never taken in front of a court or judge.

  For what?  What was?

Bull - You have my PM. You signed SOME DOCUMENTS??? You were arrested and spent the night in jail. " I was never taken in front of a court or judge " , of course not you Failed To Appear. The documents you signed were presented to you by a Senior Police Officer ie. Inspector or Staff Sgt. or the arresting officers? The documents you signed were - THE PROMISE TO APPEAR. So to date you have : 1) Been Charged With A Criminal Offense and 2) Failed To Appear which then means you have been convicted and have a warrant for both the conviction and failure to appear.

If you legal advisor says " not to worry " , may I respectfully suggest you seek a second opinion.

Bull - If you have issues with the Dutch Authorities and do have plans to travel may I suggest that you not fly on KLM flights that connect through Dutch Territory ie. Amsterdam to another final destination. If you are thinking about a Caribbean vacation to St. Martin/St Maartan you may be in for a surprise. When you present your Passport to the Customs and Immigrations officials they will scan the Passport and guess what will appear…the little matter in your past.

If you are thinking about " missing " a slight detail on your employment application you are in fact making a false application. I suspect there is clause in your application that STATES something to the effect that FALSE OR MISLEADING information may result in either denial of your application or dismissal.

Thank you for your input.

I've come to the conclusion that i will just have to get a criminal background check from that country and see for sure what my status is.     Until then, thinking about it is just wasting my time.

it’s for sure, you’ll better do a criminal background check,
I am not sure if there will be or won’t be anything to play a great role on your reputation, but at least first of all you’ll know what’s gonna happen to you,and the second- you’ll not be so anxious any more.

And…by the way friend-try never to waste your time!! It’s so precious!!
