Merrill Lynch Clients Can Now Trade Within BofA App

Both bank and Merrill Lynch clients will now see a view of all their accounts, including investment and retirement, on the mobile app.

Bank of America announced Monday several additions to its mobile banking application, including an integration with its Merrill Lynch unit that allows clients with an investment account to execute trades from within the app.

In addition to their banking accounts, including BofA Private Bank accounts, clients now have an integrated view that includes their Merrill investing and retirement accounts. As for features beyond the views, clients now have access to extended Erica support, the bank’s artificial intelligence-driven digital assistant, for pulling up “insights on portfolio performance, trading, investment balances, quotes and holdings.” The virtual assistant can also directly connect clients to a Merrill advisor.

The lion’s share of new or enhanced features, however, is made up of core banking improvements, including spending, bill pay and fund transfer, budgeting and planning, as well as digital mortgage and auto experiences and peer-to-peer payments through Zelle, among others.
