Ritholtz Wealth Management has opened a new office in the Manhattan Beach neighborhood of Los Angeles.
A spokesperson confirmed this was a new office, not an acquisition.
The $4 billion AUM firm serves high-net-worth clients and institutions and now has 11 offices nationwide. Most of them are small shops with one or two advisors. Ritholtz opened a new office in July 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Senior advisor Michelle Katzen and advisor Jordan D. Hanson will lead the new Los Angeles office, having joined the firm 10 and three months ago, respectively. Prior to joining Ritholtz, both Katzen and Hanson had spent several years with HCR Wealth Advisors in LA. Katzen won a Rising Star of the Year Award at the 2022 Wealth Management Industry Awards.
Katzen previously worked at Toyota Financial Services, Union Bank and UBS. She graduated with a master’s degree in financial engineering from the UCLA Anderson School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Colorado State University.
Hanson has worked as a financial advisor for over eight years and graduated from the University of Nevada with an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Ritholtz Wealth Management was founded in 2013. Barry Ritholtz, chairman and chief investment officer, hosts the Bloomberg “Masters in Business” podcast and regularly appears on Bloomberg TV, while CEO Josh Brown is an on-air CNBC personality and the creator of the “Downtown Josh Brown” blog.
