A Darien, Conn.-based financial advisor was arrested for killing a Dominican-born hotel worker on the Caribbean island of Anguilla.
According to reports, Gavin Hapgood, an advisor with UBS Securities, was vacationing with his family when Kenny Mitchel, a maintenance worker at the hotel where they were staying, was called to their hotel room. Hapgood alleges Mitchel pulled a knife, published reports indicate, and the two fought, resulting in Mitchel’s death.
Hapgood was charged with manslaughter, and has been released on $74,000 bail.
