The average American is intrigued by wealth and the luxurious lifestyle that comes with being filthy rich. In fact, in the last decade, global interest in the net worth of others has increased 16-fold, according to a new analysis by Latona, a U.S.-based mergers and acquisitions broker. But certain wealthy individuals get more attention than others.
This month, Latona analyzed Google search volume data and net worth statistics to come up with a list of the individuals whose net worth is searched for the most.
Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos tops the list, with the highest net worth and annual search volume, receiving more than 5.4 million annual net worth searches. He’s the richest man in the world, with about $140 billion in net worth.
Kylie Jenner, the youngest person to become a billionaire and star of the E! reality television series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," came in second, with 4.9 million annual searches, almost a million more than Bill Gates. Gates comes in third, with about 4.09 million searches, followed by Drake, at 4.01 million searches. But Gates is a lot richer, with about $100 billion in net worth, compared to Drake’s $180 million.
Drake was followed in searches by Jay-Z, with a net worth of $1 billion, Eminem, worth $230 million, Rihanna (worth $400 million), Kanye (worth $250 million) and Taylor Swift (worth $400 million).
