Nick Graham, chief technology officer at Cambridge Investment Research, recently resigned from his role at the independent broker/dealer. The company confirmed his departure, effective Dec. 31, and has launched a search for his replacement.
“We appreciate Nick’s leadership of the technology teams and his contributions over the last seven years,” a Cambridge spokesperson said in a statement.
Graham joined Cambridge in 2017 as CTO, charged with innovating the independent broker/dealer’s advisor workstation. He also sat on Cambridge’s board of directors. He replaced Ryan Reineke, who was serving as chief operations and technology officer then. (Reineke is currently the chief operating officer at Invent.us.)
Graham was named Chief Technology Officer of the Year at the 2021WealthManagement.com Industry Awards.
He did not return a request for comment prior to publication.
He has over 25 years of experience in product development, consulting services and business development across various markets, including the financial services industry. Before joining Cambridge, he was a consultant at ViaWest, an IT service management company that has since rebranded to Flexential. Prior to that, he was a vice president of operations at Brandwise, which provides sales technology and software for business-to-business eCommerce.
About a year ago, Cambridge launched a new RIA aimed at smaller, fee-only advisors looking for flexible acquisition options. BridgePort Financial Solutions is a standalone entity from Cambridge’s corporate RIA and broker/dealer, and it takes minority, majority or full ownership stakes in the advisor businesses that join the platform. The firm hired Eddie Rollins, who previously led distribution efforts at Horizon Investments, as managing director of BridgePort.
The IBD recently announced the promotion of Brian Reid, a vice president of practice management, to first vice president of relationship management. Reid, who has been with Cambridge since 2009, will focus on improving advisor satisfaction and retention and driving growth opportunities.
Cambridge currently has more than 3,800 financial advisors across the country.
