Advisor Group Recruits Three Women-Led Advisory Teams

The three teams have a combined $250 million in client assets, the firm announced at its W Forum conference this week.

Advisor Group, a network of independent broker/dealers, has recruited three women-led independent advisory teams with a combined $250 million in client assets, the firm announced at its W Forum conference this week.

Avon, Minn.-based Black Financial Services, led by Margo Scepaniak, joins Woodbury Financial Services from LPL Financial. Wayfinder Wealth Management, based in Santa Maria, Calif. and led by Teri White, moved to FSC Securities from Edward Jones. Haber Wealth Management in Ft. Worth, Texas, led by Tricia Wood, also joins FSC. Her firm was previously affiliated with Rhodes Securities.

“I’m a strong believer that it will never be enough for our industry simply to hire more women,” said Valerie Brown, executive chairman of Advisor Group. “We must empower women who enter the financial advice profession, and give them the career development opportunities they need to flourish and make a major impact on their companies and the clients they serve.”

At its W Forum, Advisor Group also unveiled a grant program to help female advisors or registered assistants participate in coaching or continuing education programs. The firm’s Women’s Advisory Board will give up to $5,000 each to 10 fellows, who also get one-on-one mentoring each month. Applications are due June 7.
