A lot of clients likely have been uneasy over the past couple of months, as the coronavirus has wreaked havoc on global markets. But advisors say those with a financial plan were more satisfied with their relationship during this environment, with 85% of advisors reporting higher satisfaction levels among these clients, according to a new eMoney survey. More than eight in 10 advisors (81%) believe clients with a financial plan had less discomfort and anxiety during the market volatility.
The survey showed advisors view COVID-19 as a net positive to their business, with 93% of them feeling the current environment has positively affected their client relationships, and nearly four out of five saying it has positively impacted their ability to connect with clients. Sixty-four percent say they’ve seen an increased need to connect with clients about their financial plans.
Nearly six out of 10 (59%) respondents feel the current situation has positively impacted inquiries from new prospects, while 37% say they’ve had increased inquiries from new clients about creating a financial plan. Twenty-eight percent say they’ve received more inquiries from current clients about creating a financial plan.
eMoney surveyed 227 of their advisor clients at the beginning of May.
