Hey mel. The good news for you is that the market won’t have to fall as fall as 950 for it to be considered a correction. Isn’t that great!?
Wow…shocked at how the markets are collapsing this morning…Down-syndrome is really a prophet.
good thing apple, dupont, verizon, j&j, txn, and Travelers had great earnings…What a powerful rally going on !!!
Hey Mel, was it tough getting your cardboard box house and newspaper blanket on the bus to move to the next town over so you could use a different library to make your prediction posts?
Earnings are looking halfway decent thus far. If the banks can get over the hump and if Obama leaves them alone we should get some traction.

Really? What’s the prediction today? Are we going to 950? Or just 1040? Speaking of 1040’s, how’s the EIC going for you. Maybe you can bribe your way back on to the boards with it.
I guess we should get right on that.
I noticed that I have ACATS raining IN. Anybody else experiencing this strange phenomena?
Hey mel, do I get another chance to sell today? Or is it going to be raining ACATs? Just trying to plan my day. Appreciate the help.
Mel is a moron, but this correction is for real boys. I hope you’re protecting your clients. There will be little patience for watching portfolios blow-up again.

Why is it that people think a correction is “portfolios blowing up”?
A correction is just that - a correction.
This is why I like individual equities. On days when the markets are down, most of our portfolios are up. On days when the markets are up, all of our portfolios are up.

If you are 100% long equities (like some people on this forum), you will blow up portfolios. It happened in '08 and it will happen again.

Depends on the equities. It’s all about proper valuation.
If the average portfolio we have is up 78%, and 15% moved to cash, we’re unlikely to experience a blown up portfolio. It would be hard to lose that entire gain.
Plus, who in the world would have all portfolios at 100% equities.
Did mel go and get banned again?
Someone else loan him a library card. He got me banned from the library when I loaned him mine.
