with the current weather front going through the “show me state” howzitgoin’ with your reception or have yous all bean converted to land lines??
It’s ugly here in the STL. Some of the interstate highways are closed, and 450,000 without power in Eastern MO and Southwestern IL.
Fortunately I’m not a Jones-er and my internet connection and all my other technology is working fine. So, I’m alternative between working and clearing the driveway.
I got to my office here in STL and it the satellite works fine. It was fine through the storm all day yesterday too. Been here 4 years now and I think I’ve only lost connection a few times. I’ve been down more because of electricity being out than weather. Thanks for thinking of us though.
I think it’s pretty funny to see a guy from Jones posting on the “technology” forum…

You are indeed fortunate, Spiff. During my years at Jones, we’d lose the link
due to weather four or five times per year. And my office was in the
Southeast! I’m glad to hear that the technology has improved, for your sake
if for no other reason.

You're in St.L and you are "still" on the satellite"????? I thought all the lokal yokels went to land lines from all the previous postings?
Hopefully all the other "irs" don't experience what you went through just two years ago ...... complete satellite shutdown. I imagine your new lp offering will be put to go use and pay for you new "land line" connections ..... I imagine youall will have an emergency dial-up function too??
I always enjoyed getting "wires" from the boa's asking if it was part of their job description requirement for them to go up on the roof and/or tower to sweep off the snow? But what really got me doubled over in laughter was hearing from ir's telling me that their IRD person telling them that it was a "compliance requirement" for the IR to clean off the dish.
In some parts of North America the "sub" branch is so far north that the dish is almost pointed at the horizen so no snow is able to accumulate.....some guys even sprayed WD-40 on the dish to help the snow slide off .....unfortunately the chemicals in WD-40 dissolved the plastic and screwed up the reception anyways.
I wonder what the "canucks" of ej do to ensure reception?????
