To Blackberry or Not? That is the question

I am transitioning from the institutional bond biz to EDJ. In my previous position I used a Bloomberg terminal and since I had accounts all over the world, I had the messages that came across my Bloomberg forwarded to my Blackberry.
For you folks at EDJ, do you think a Blackberry or other mobile email device is useful, or is regualr email and your BOA sufficient? Let me know what works well for you. Thanks!
NOggin, “isn’t compatible” doesn’t help me very much. DO you mean that they don’t have a Blackberry Server or the security won’t allow forwarding, or what?? What exactly makes it “not compatible”?? Thanks
I have a Windows mobile Pocket PC and am very happy with it, with the exception that LPL has not set up a mobile compatible trading platform. It’s still nice to check email, check on the markets, listen to music, etc.
At Jones, you need a Windows based phone. You CANNOT use a blackberry.
This is true…I currently have a blackberry and am looking into different Windows based phones to replace it.
ya has to be windows based so any of the smart phones from verizon or an i phone. I know you get a discount at verizon through edj, they probably have discounts for at&t as well
Now you can use any windows based phone, iphone and the new Blackberrys. I tried the blackberry and iphone and decided to go with the iphone due to the larger screen and it being much easier.
The new Blackberry’s are compatible. They need to be classified as “smartphones”. I think thats the difference… don’t hold me to it. I know that the newer Blackberrys do work though. Several in my region just switched, and its a great watered-down version of joneslink… accounts, prospects, performance summary…etc.etc
