Training Consultants vs Pass Perfect
26 RepliesJump to last post
I passed the 7 about a month ago on my first try. I primarily used TC (two weeks out I purchased the Kaplan QBank - highly rec if you need more prep). TC is ok.. I found some of their shortcut tips to be beneficial for the actual exam. However, the lack of systemic updates to the material was very frustrating. For example, TC literally dubbed "FINRA" over NASD for roughly a quarter of the video lectures. They also mentioned multiple times throughout the program to know X old data and X new data..
I came from a completely different professional background before joining my firm. They opened my 4-month window right away so TC made the most sense to me given my experience.
I would only suggest TC to someone if they are brand new to the industry and are in a time crunch.
My top three prep providers for licensing exam are
Kaplan
Pass Perfect
STC
If anyone is interested in getting a discount on Kaplan materials for a licensing exam such as the series 6, 7, 63, 65, 66 and the SIE, you can use the link below:

Hi All,
I understand the stress you are all under. Here is what worked for me:
I passed the series 7 with Passperfect with a 76% on the first attempt. I studied 4 months and double the amount of hours as they recommended. Passperfect was good for this. I would use them.
I failed the 66 twice with Passperfect both times, and I passed on the third try when I switched to Training Consultants. It isn't as good of a platform, but they touch on key aspects that simply were NOT on passperfect. Even if you are smart there are questions you would not be able to get. DCF and Bond Evaluations specifically were not covered in the correct manner. TC did this. I passed my test on the 3rd(and last chance).
I remember reading how someone switched to TC for the 66 and I want to thank them by putting it back out there for everyone else!
Aritaub, DCF/bond valuation is covered in great detail in Pass Perfect. Bond valuation uses DCF.
