Guys, unless you have a revenue sharing program to offer to CPAs, it is going to get more and more difficult to get referral business from them. I can tell you that CPAs are very aware of the fact that these programs exist and they are not opposed to participating. That is assuming they aren’t already licensed and selling themselves. My guess is that in a few years, it will be very difficult to find a CPA that just wants to trade referrals…

Interesting. I have found CPA's on both sides of the fence. Some are getting licensed and moving forward with plans to earn securities revenue. Others are very concerned about getting involved in that aspect of their clients' lives from the standpoint of potential appearances of conflict.

A good, deep bear market will solve that problem. I can hear the CPA/broker now: I'm sorry Mr./Ms. Client, your investments are down 25%, but I saved you 20% on your taxes; so, you're only down 5%. Oh, by the way, don't bother me from January through April 15th, since I'll be busy with tax returns. Have a nice day!
