Kaplan Series 7 Qbank?
4 RepliesJump to last post
Greetings,
I'm getting ready to begin my Series 7 training next month. I've spent the last two months reading the Series 7 For Dummies and Pass The 7. The firm will allocate STC materials when the class begins but I was wondering if the Kaplan Qbank would be worth it? I wouldn't mind taking some practice tests before beginning the training class. I moved to another state to take this job and I don't want to fail it and have to retake it.
How long does your firm allow you to study? It seems like a lot of firms recommend STC. What firm do you work for? I have not decided what program to use for the 7, and curious to know what the big firms recommend?
those 2 books you got first are OK for a basic primer. I tell all my students to use multiple vendors… 1 book but either buy or borrow multiple vendor Q banks so that you 1) don’t memorize answers 2) you don;t get used to one type of wording on questions as the test will be worded differently than any of the vendors. so get used to it.
I am a big believer in READING and then testing on the chapters you read not really focusing on finals but more on the knowledge…
all the people that will give you the advice “just take a ton of Qs dont read the book” probably would have passed no matter how they studied. there are just people like that out there

I took the Series 7 on 08/10 and I used the STC to prepare. 3 days before the exam, I was freaking out about memorizing questions so I bought the Kaplan Qbank for $124. Is anyone interested in purchasing it? It has two downloads and 3000 questions. $90 OBO
