Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone on here has been hired as a Financial Advisor without a bachelors degree? I am currently a Firefighter/Paramedic looking to get into the industry. Trying to find a way to get experience in the industry while going back to school. I have obtained my Life/Health producer license and I am currently studying for the SIE exam. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I think that most firms would prefer a candidate to have a college degree but FINRA does not require it. Taking the SIE exam is a great way to show an employer that you are dedicated to starting a financial career. If you can bring in lots of assets to a company, they might not care very much about the lack of degree.
