Could any RIA vets confirm whether or not their shops charge an overlay manager fee or fees for trading, administrative, or recordkeeping?

I didn't know how often RIAs use SMAs for an overlay; and from what I can tell from ADVs, there isn't an additional charge for the latter services at RIAs.
