Money Tree.  Get a small tree and tie dollar bills to it.  You can put a hundred $1 bills on it and it’ll look like it’s a thousand.

OK, well, maybe that's not the best idea.  You can put some kind of basket together.  See if you can get some local stuff to throw in.  Maybe a night at a B&B or a dinner at a nice restaurant.  Or if you've got a local sports team buy a couple of tickets for a game and raffle those.  I'm not the most creative guy around, so you might want to get few other ideas.

Colorado & Spiff-  the show isn’t specific to anything.  It’s just a consumer expo for residents to check out businesses.  There will be every and any business there.  But I would like to maybe raffle something that attracts older people rather than younger.  I don’t think the 70 year old farmer will get exited about a Starbucks girft card.  The power tool set may work atleast to get more males to sign up.  Anything else??

Baba-- can you elaborate on what all you did at your booth.  Giveaways, raffles, what literature did you have available?   Sounds like you had major success.

Also, if you do a “raffle” with one or multiple winners; do you do those drawing at the show or on your own time?  I mean someone there are the opening may not be there an hour later.

I had some basic materials laid out on the counter.  I think what drew most people in was the white board I had that said 6% IRA's.  They would ask what that was and I told them it was a 6% VA retirement income for life, growing your income at 6% per year until you start to take distributions.   I did not do a raffle, I just stood in front of my booth and shook some hands and was being friendly...

call your wholesalers. They are happy to help.

I gave away a nice putter from Franklin Templton once.  Nice golf shirt and sleeves of golf balls from almost anyone.   If you do VA's, most of them have pretty good gifts--you can do this with very little money out of your own pocket.   I still have the opinion that a raffle is not going to get the type of people you want. Just did another show last month. There were plenty of folks that want to talk about their investments--more than in the past. The only people that came up and wanted to "register" for something were the plateicker types. The legit prospects dont care about giveaways.   Youve also got to be careful about how much you put out on your table. If the show is giving away bags at the door, the "licker" types think they're there on Halloween and every booth is for "Trick-or-Treating".....if you have pens or trinkets on your table they will clean you out quickly.

I have been doing this for years, the best way to generate leads at a trade show is to stand in front of the booth and try to strike a conversation with the visitor. Ask them as exactly what they are looking for? While interacting tell about your product and offerings and how these products are going to benefit them. There might be a possibility they get interested in your products. Another best way is to distribute freebies at your booth. All these initiatives will help you to maximise lead generation.
