I am moving from a large wirehouse to a mid size boutique firm.  My old firm was in a small 'state employee' populated city and I will now be situated in one of the largest cities in California.  Has anyone had experience with prospecting from a boutique?  My thoughts are that prospecting is 'prospecting' and in fact I have an upper hand because of the limited occurance of coming across current clients of my firm working with other advisors.  -Net New heaven-

Has anyone had this type of transition and found difficulty or found the need to readapt your prospecting plan dramatically?

Thanks

Where does the boutique custody their assets? As a start

They custody their own assets unless a client of IA decides to request assets be held somewhere else.
