I must disagree. Yes, it is visual, but ripping apart a dollar bill may "turn off" some of the prospects.

I imagine there is an alternative with the same result.

Peace to all of you as Iran attempts to  eliminate the West. This must not happen.
ZAA, I hear you. How about this: instead of one dollar you use 9607.10 Iranian Rial. It might be a bit more time consuming, but the math is the same. More or less.

Actually, you're not too far off. But I believe it should be closer to 9000. Some old school folks use the Toman.

I'm not off at all. The exchange rate when I posted was 9607.10, EXACTLY. I'm not old school.

But I'm glad you agree and are open to suggestion.

I don't agree. Ripping up perfectly good dollars is all about wasting money. And wasting money is American as apple pie. God Bless America!

Peace to all of you as Hezbollah must be stopped and disarmed.

That's your fight, we've got our hands full right now.

Thank you so much for your kind response.

Problem is you don't mean that. So now you're being disengenuous

But, you are incorrect about your exchange rates. Right now, the rate is $9230. I'm quite familiar with the formula. And as I said, the Toman is used by many in Iran. Your mistake is human, so do not feel bad. You make many of them.

The Rial is worth so little fractionally when compared to the dollar that perhaps, God willing, it moved in value between our price checks. Note I didn't say you were wrong, I would never be so arrogant, only that I was not wrong.

But if I may point out an error on your part, putting a dollar sign in front of the Rial exchange rate is incorrect. But, don't sweat it, you are human and will make many mistakes.

Yes, wasting money is American! I also am guilty of that. But in the USA, we can all work hard and live the dream!

What dream would that be? Killing people half a world away because they worship a different God than you do?

Hezbollah is OUR fight. I am a US citizen and Hezbollah is responsible for more US deaths than any other terror organization (excluding 911).

Yeah, hezbollah is no more than an Iranian front team of hitmen and are a dangerous group that the middle eastern region should have reigned in years ago. Problem is, of course, that most arabs in the region don't disagree with their cause. The moderates say they disagree, but actions speak louder than words. And no action speaks volumes. So here we sit. If we can't get the governments in the region to step on these guys why should we have to? Again, not our fight.

And I politely point out that you are wrong about hezbolla being responsible for the most american deaths. That infamous title goes to Libya for the Pan-Am bombing.

Evidently, you are not familiar with global politics, for you would understand that Iran and Hezbollah are on the same side!!! That is why WE (perhaps not you) are so concerned with them.

Yeah, I'm pretty much your average, uninformed, American country bumpkin

Peace to all of you as Ahmadinejad must be isolated.

Good luck with that. Let us know how that works out for you. Maybe you and Condi Rice can go on a road trip.

Thank you for your kind response. It is appreciated.

Disengenous. You are mixing your entities here.

Disengenous? No, my frustrated friend. Just honest.

You are far from honest and I am far from frustrated. Whoever you are ,put, zaid, whatever, after this round i need to go back to work.

The exchange rate could have moved from that point. I'm sure it can be verified.

Why don't you check that out and get back to us?

My idea of a "dream" and yours are different. I believe in working hard and building a better life. You are referring to something else. Peace to you.

Re...Hezbollah...it is our fight. If they are not stopped, eventually, they will reach our shores. Diplomacy comes first, but these people don't often reason very well.

Well, this should work out for you. As an American citizen you can incorporate your dream of working hard for a better life with your wish to stamp out terrorist. The Army wants you. Sign up, lace up, buck up, and go fight those terrorist. For now you'll have to settle for the terrorist in Iraq. I know they're a kind of second class low life terrorist but, maybe, with more government bungling, you'll get your wish to someday fight Hezbollah. At least you'll get to fight some terrorist, even if their not your first choice. And you'll be positioning yourself to be on the front line if we do ever engage hezbollah. Maybe you'll get a bonus round of getting to meet Mahmoud in person. Sounds like a dream come true huh?

And you are quite wrong about the Pan Am bombing. Less than 200 Americans were killed in that tragic event. In the 1983 suicide attack on our Marine barracks in Lebanon, almost 250 were killed.

Being an American I believe in innocence until PROVEN guilty. Libya downed Pan Am 103, however, to this day, the Marine barracks bombing goes unattributed. We THINK and we SUSPECT hezbollah did it, but we don't KNOW FOR SURE that they did it. If we did your wish for them to be wiped from the face of the planet would have been realized a generation ago. The point is, you're wrong. Anyone else you want to point the finger at?

I guess you are right about being uninfomed. But you still get a passing grade!

Well Zaid, thank you so much! Where do I write to to get the offishall certifikate?

Looking forward to my trip with Condi!

Peace to all of you as we fight terror.

Unless you sign up you really are missing an opportunity to do your life's work.
Really, I"ve got to go. And as your friend I will go in peace. God bless you Zaid. And when you join up to fight the terrorist, may he watch over you.

Let's not feed the troll, this is registered rep forums, not lets pontificate about Iran.

Returning to the main subject of the thread, I've figured at least a few new points to try and work in.

1) The need to have a planned strategy from the outset. I'm currently converting a $1M taxable portfolio out of growth stocks, and into dividend stocks, and so its a damned nuisance having to lose 15% in the transition.

2) The AMT snare, and how QDI/Muni interest avoids AMT.

3) The retirement red zone!!, and the need to be conservitive than commonly assumed.

Thank you for your prompt response. It is appreciated. I appreciate that you must work. In this country, we all work hard and that is good.

I looked up the exchange rates, and indeed you were incorrect. Do not feel bad.

About three years ago, a US District Court ruled Iran (Hezbollah) was responsible for the massacre of the Marines. Their fingerprints were all over the evidence.

But I realize that this is not your forte. It is all right.

I can not join the Military, but I would have loved to do that as a younger person. I appreciate your concern. It is sincere.

I agree that this thread has been "hijacked" so I hope this debate ends.

Peace to all of you as we seek peace.

I swear this lebanese guy is troll, with all the cascaded quoting. Anywho, if people could scroll up and look at my reply to bondguy and give more comments, it would be nice.

I have to tell you....on the other Message Boards that I participate, a "troll" is usually a fan of the team that is playing them that week (football Boards).

Rest assured, I am a normal American. "Lebanon" refers to a City, and not the country. And Zaid Abdul Aziz is the name used by a fomer basketball player named Donald Smith. I always thought it was an interesting sounding name.

Quite the contrary, I have never worn a turban and waive a terrible towel! And I have been a Financial Planner for the same firm, since my graduation from a great University in 1980.

Feel better now?

I was enjoying a perfectly serious, informative discussion about effective seminars.

Now it has been spammed. Please go to another board with your political lecture.

Lighten up Francis. Unfortunately, these "left turns" happen often. The good news is that I think we're all done with the political discussion, and the seminar discussions should continue.

Peace to all of you, as we fight...well, you know.

Are you the character from the book "Eaters of the Dead"?

I honestly agree with biasedrecruiter.  I'm glad you're having fun with this, but this thread was to discuss something of particular interest to the participants, and you've been selfish and a horse's behind to hijack it with your silly drivel.  Of course, I guess if all of us had ignored you your attempt would have failed.

No. I'll check that out though.

Peace to all of you as we fight Iran.

Actually, it was not fun. Let's get back to business, boys.

Peace to all of you as Bill says good bye.
