Are these a good marketing tool? You put a bowl in a restaurant or small business and advertise "If we pick your card you and 10 friends can win a free lunch"
lol nope. But im a new FA so this is one of the strategies my boss has picked out for me to do. To me its like standing infront of a gas station asking for money. Its hard starting out so im open to anything. Ideas?

Amber_M,
That was really funny your comment…I’m still laughing…
Bateman…how old in your boss?
You sound like a eager one…YOU are valuable to him…say, “Hey boss, Let’s print 5000 invitations to a fancy restaurant, mass mail them, you pay it all, advertising, food, etc, and I’ll answer the phone and call em up just before to confirm…I’ll manage the schedule, put through the paperwork, and follow up with them on the transfers, 50/50 on the comm……sounds fair to me, let him dig into his pocket and go to bat….sick of these old losers who recruit the young up and comers and burn them without any care……you’ll make it in this business….just maybe not with Mr Nostalgia at the wheel.
All The Way
He has been in the business for over 20 years. I think he is almost 50. I just think maybe the company im at promotes these old school, throw as much shit at the wall strategies. I mean say 10 people come times 18-20 bucks a head (including tip) times 10 fish bowls! Thats sounds like almost 2 grand to me. Thanks for the info.

When it comes to doing this at large companies, do they have to jump through a lot of hoops to approve you?

Depends on the company and who your contact is. In the situation I was in it wasnt an issue.
Good luck
