NFL Football: Week 1 Recap & Discussion Thread

A few things I’m pondering as kickoff weekend winds down…
1. Could Vick conceivably start week 3 with McNabb injured?
2. The Lions looked awful; what’s the record for consecutive regular season losses?
3. Delhomme looked awful, too. How long does he keep his job?
4. Peterson is an animal. Favre looked good. How deep do the Vikings go this year?
5. I hate the Broncos. My blood pressure must’ve been through the effin’ roof this afternoon. Now THAT’S losin’ "Bungle Style."
6. Where is Marvin Harrison?
Feel free to comment, or add your own.

2. The Lions looked awful; what's the record for consecutive regular season losses? I believe the Bucs lost 26 straight.
3. Delhomme looked awful, too. How long does he keep his job? Week 5
4. Peterson is an animal. Favre looked good. How deep do the Vikings go this year? Animal doesn't do him justice. 1st round of playoffs.
5. I hate the Broncos. My blood pressure must've been through the effin' roof this afternoon. Now THAT'S losin' "Bungle Style." hehehe, the bungles.
6. Where is Marvin Harrison? Waiting for a $6mm contract offer.
7. Is the Packers-Bears game good defense or bad offense?
8. Poutler throws a pretty interception, what a gun.
9. While all the attention at the Jets - Houston game was focused on Mark Sanchez, who MIGHT be one of the great ones (way to early to say, but he looks good) - the JETS defense was nothing less than ferocious.
I agree, I think McNabb makes it back at whatever cost
I thought the Lions would be worse. Drew Brees is an animal. Stafford look just as bad(completion percentage and ints) as he did at Georgia. I would move towards Dante.
Never understood why you give a guy an extension who just kills you with ints in important games.
Peterson has been that way forever. I think Favre understands this year that he doesn’t have to do much. Which is different than past teams he has been on(Thomas Jones-jets(really?) and whoever GB had)
The Bengals "famous for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory"
I think Harrison will get some calls this week(Indy, Bears and others)
I thought packers/bears was just sloppy… Why is Urlacher so frail? They should trade him for a receiver cause he is done.
49rs are a tough team, coached by a tougher guy…
I was able to get AP with the fourth pick in my FF league. That was the steal of the century.I agree, I think McNabb makes it back at whatever cost

Here are 5 things nobody is talking about, but I am predicting…
1. Jake Delhomme and Jay Cutler will be fine. 2. Adrian Peterson will be hurt and miss 3+ games because he runs with reckless abandon. 3. Mark Sanchez will have thrown more Int's than TD's when it is all said and done. 4. The Falcons and Cardinals will not make the playoffs. 5. Knowshon Moreno will not rush for 800 yards.NFL week 1 usually means nothing but I have to say I was most impressed with the Steelers/Titans defenses. Those two teams look absolutley bada$$.

I think Jake is done, he has been playing poorly for quite some time. The running game has held him up for a while.
Cutler will be ok as long as long as the recievers get better.
Adrian Peterson will be fine. Inflicts more than he takes.
Falcons will make playoffs, probably not cards. NFC east will be weaker than expected
I have to agree with Omar about the Steelers and Titans. That was a great game to watch whichever team you were pulling for. The Colts look pretty decent as well. The Bears and Packers just confused me, don’t know what was going on there…
They owe Delhomme 20mil guaranteed. They have to live or die with him. Although Garcia is probably better.
I agree Cutler will be fine, but I was surprised at how careless he played, was just throwing it up there, even Favre has some restrain. I think Delhomme is done. Agree with Sanchez and Cardinals, but I think the Falcons will make the playoffs. Have not watched Mareno play yet. I wonder the same thing with Peterson, that is why he fell some in the draft a few years ago, but he has held up pretty well so far. Walter Payton played the same way and did not miss many games. All good points but Payton was a freak of nature. No NFL RB will ever play 13 yrs while missing only 1 game ever again.
True, plus guys are bigger, faster and stronger, I can’t believe these guys don’t miss more games. Peterson takes pretty good care of himself, I think you could put him in the freak of nature category. Maybe the Favre toughness will rub off.
