Eye - the thing about a pen collection is that it’s pretty compact.  It’s not like I have them in a china cabinet with lights focused on the pens.  Although now that I write that, that would be a great way to get some additional non-flourescent light into my office.  If I were spending $2500 on a pen, then I might have it displayed better.  But when the most expensive pen I own is about $350 and I use it daily, I don’t have a real need for the storage.  As my income grows, so will my collection.

You can keep a pen collection in a coffee mug if you don't want to spend the bucks for a display case.  I don't, so in the cup they go.

I have a pen that writes. It's awesome. PaperMate I think. It uses black ink. Sweet.   Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll f-off now.

Pentel EnerGel (the quick dry stuff for lefties). I absolutely love these pens.  Comfy grip, fast dry ink, stylish silver & black theme, and 0.7mm tip.

$4 for a 2 pack at Office Max.

Spaceman, I'd recommend using a cheap and classic 1960's Esterbrook pen holder (the "Eight Ball"), which would fit most fountain pens, or any pen for that matter.  These can be bought at eBay for $25.  Looks great on any desk.
