Big Taco:
I thought I had read that originated from a church someplace. If true, obviously , not in NYC. There is a lot of misinformation floating around that gets quoted as fact. Regardless of its origin, that people believe it confirms the nation of sheep point made in my posts. And the danger is, of course, that people act on that misinformation. The bigger danger is that people who know it's not true, still spread it. This affects many aspects of our lives, not just politics. Case in point: In our town a company that operates group homes is trying to open two new homes in upscale neighborhoods. The diatribe of misinformation flowing from residents of those neighborhoods who are opposed to the group homes is mind boggling. They are in the gutter with fear mongering. And most of the residents of not only those neighborhoods, but of the entire town and surrounding towns have bought into it. To the point that there have been anonymous threats to the safety of the residents of the homes, should they open. The residents, by the way, are young children from abused homes. These people are threatening kids! Nice huh? Yet, five doors down from BondGuy's home is a group home for young children run by the same company that is trying to open the new homes. I've lived with these neighbors, on a Cul de Sac, for six years. I could only wish everyone could have such good neighbors. None of what I'm hearing or reading from the fear mongers is true. And seeing how the fear is spread and has spread is enough to make a reasonable person throw up. Many of those who are spreading the misinformation, and are opposed to the homes will attend services in churches this Sunday decorated for the holy day of this season. Among the decorations celebrating this special time of year will be banner proclaiming "Peace On Earth and Good Will To Men." If only they'd take a moment to let those words sink in.freefromjones’ post reads like a spam email. In fact, I’m almost sure I’ve received the same one before.

All sides are guilty. And that truly is sad. Unfortunately the wholesale pushing of agendas pervades many areas of our lives. Politcal, business, and as I've shown above, personal. The ability to lie with a straight face to achieve a goal is systemic within our culture. We've learned our lesson well from our fore fathers, who learned it from theirs. To me though, it's those who follow who allow this to take place. I can protect myself from a con man. How do I protect myself from a dolt, a non thinker? These are the people I call sheep. Just thoughlessly following the herd. The herd can do a lot of damage. The herd in my town is threatening kids.[quote=BondGuy]
