Wholesaler abuse
Not kidding here.
We had a couple of guys three weeks ago come in advertizing coheen ETFs.
After their presentation about ETFs, I simply asked: “Why this and not UITs?”
They looked at each other in confusion and one replied: “ahhhh…I’ve never heard of that company to be honest with you!”

That is priceless…
There are two wholesalers who I used that actually are very good for what I want them for. Updates on products, money for seminars(but don’t come to speak) and lunch. I don’t need a resell on a product I am very happy with and I hate when wholesalers look around the room and come up with solutions that bash the competition you have laying around(Seriously try it. Invite a wholesaler in and lay out a competitors stuff on your desk or behind you and watch them spin a story…Best part of the meeting…aside from lunch)

It cracks me up when they look around for annuity kits and literature for the competition. They ALL do it.

The nice thing about being independent is the only ones who call on you are the ones you actually use. And they never just show up.
Squash, it has nothing to do with you being independant. They know who the "producers" are.
Oh yeah I forgot. Always forget that production thing. No wonder it is the same 5 wholesalers who continually provide good service, product knowledge, updates and most importantly money.. Maybe when I finally do $75K gross next year more people will come by.
If you shoot for the moon.....
Yeah but I have this really "big 401K plan in the pipeline" that might get me to $85K gross
