You’d think somebody beside C Span could make money (at least salaries) off just reporting the news.

Saw it on CNN WIRE which went on a full 30 minutes after the debate ended. McCain shook no more than 5 hands per section. He and Obama never shook hands. Obama extended his hand and McCain looked down and walked around him blantantly ignoring him. Cindy caught it, took a few steps towards Obama and shook his hand instead. CNN LIVe got a clear shot of the two candidates before Tom told Mccain to get out oft he way (he was wondering around), there was no shake.
No, sorry, that's a talking point, from Talking Points Memo, no less and then spread far and wide by Democrat operatives. They shook hand immediately after the debate, as I said, and Brokaw had to ask them to move. Here's the video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K_MKwVBZRY&eurl=http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/222684.php Looks like you didn't watch the debate, but read the spin afterwards. The CNN clip you're talking about is later, when the wives are on stage and McCain taps Obama on the back, Obama turns around offers his hand and McCain gestures to Cindy, whom Obama had not greeted up unto that point. Count on good ole Wolf Blitzer to provide an inaccurate voice over claiming McCain had "snubbed" Obama when it's obvious McCain tapped Obama so he could greet Cindy. Here's that video with Blitzer's clueless editorializing voice over, you can see McCain getting Obama's attention, hardly the sort of thing you do to "snub" someone; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI0iIOqPGak

I streamed the thing off CNN WIRe live. If you're not familiar with that, It would be best not to assume what I watched was something off another station/clip and had audio voiceover. There was no commentary during the broadcast.

No offense, it was just startling how you coincidentally ran off the complete list of DNC debate talking points, including not just the subjective ones, but the blatantly false ones. I felt like the school teacher who had a student claiming he didn’t copy the kid in the next desk’s exam, even though he had every answer the same, including the errors.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
During the debate, when asked who they would nominate to Secretary of Treasury, both candidates mentioned Warren Buffett. I don’t think that would ever actually happen.
But what concerns me is that McCain also mentioned Meg Whitman of Ebay. Does that concern anyone else? Would she be a good candidate to deal with this mess?Snags…despite Buffett’s public support of Obama I seriously doubt that he would consider the position.
I know he wouldn't do it. I'm just saying my jaw hit the floor when McCain said Meg Whitman, "Heh, maybe some of you have used Ebay before" McCain says. I'm thinking, what the hell. Let's just let any CEO of any company run the Treasury. They don't need any financial background...we're Mavericks...time to get all Mavericky. I'm sorry, but I would actually pony up $100 to see McCain and Bush go head to head on an IQ test.Snags…despite Buffett’s public support of Obama I seriously doubt that he would consider the position.
I don't know...he might still be on a "retreat".Snags …you are right. I think that the CEO of AIG may be available.
Would that be in an Unknown Resort in Southern California? Or would that be to be specific the Four Seasons Resort in Carlsbad?

It's not like there's anything financial going on there. What was that you were saying about the IQ test?

So what are you so mad about? To the point, I don't know enough about MW to pass judgement. However, generally speaking I'm with snags on this one. Resume has to be a little deeper than being a CEO, regardless of company's success. Many CEO's come from the manufacturing side or sales side, and aren't experts in finance. They become CEO because of a unique ability to get the job done. This entails pushing the right buttons and hiring the right help to fill in the gaps. I'm not saying that MW couldn't or wouldn't make a good SOT, just that a CEO does not a SOT make. Now if we're talking picking any cabinet members based on politcal contributions well MW has that base covered. Still, doesn't make her any less qualified. Just a reason why she got a shout out the other night.

They might not know jack shit about financials. That's what a CFO is for. Seymore Butts is a successful CEO of a porn company. Would he make a good Secretary of Treasury? How about Mark Cuban, another successful CEO?Anybody notice that when Obama’s poll numbers go up…the market goes down? If indeed the market is a forward-looking discounting mechanism, then the next 6-12 months don’t look too promising.
Also, it seems that when the Republicans don’t feel they have a good shot at the White House, they tend to put the oldest fart in the party to represent. Remember Dole vs. Clinton?
I wonder if the Republicans wish they could replace McCain with Mitt Romney. Or at the very least, replace Palin with Romney. At least he has some economic sense.Anybody notice that when Obama’s poll numbers go up…the market goes down? speaking of MSNBC, who else thinks Keith Ubermann is a slimeball, duche bag jerk off? The other night his major ‘expose’ was that McCain went to an event in Oregon in the 80"s which was sponsored by some front right wing religico-politico group where the group leader recognized someone that about 3 yras later shot an abortion clinic dr. The shooter went to jail, but somehow McCain was responsible.
So when they screme about Tony Rezko and Obamamarama its really quite hilarious.
speaking of MSNBC, who else thinks Keith Ubermann is a slimeball, duche bag jerk off?
