What is it the same clients every year call to ask “why haven’t I gotten my 1099 yet”? Does this drive anyone else crazy?

Some people like to have their hand-held through life....ALL the time.
It seems that nobody knows that the due date 1099 for stock, bond , mutual funds is Febuary 16 this year. It is a well kept secret it seems. I only knew about it after a google search. It seems that it is due to reits funds etc. restate things which causes everyone problems such as sending 1099’s again and amending returns. It would seem that theses companies should be required to get it right the first time, but it does not seem to work that way.
Whats the big deal anyway - the accountant does the return without the 1099 info. Saves it on his hard drive, and then when the 1099 comes, he plugs in the numbers and is done.
Precisely. Thank God my 1099's are out.Whats the big deal anyway - the accountant does the return without the 1099 info. Saves it on his hard drive, and then when the 1099 comes, he plugs in the numbers and is done.
Never happen – all talk. Too many special interests groups in Washington. Tax laws are here forever.
Don't forget....you are REQUIRED to file a tax return ($$$$$$ for me)....but you DON'T have to hire a financial planner!
CPAs do terrific work – not sure we’d survive without them!
Who would help people cheat on their taxes and not claim responsibility then???
