Working as a financial advisor is a pretty sweet gig. A recent survey conducted by Money magazine and Salary.com ranked financial advisor as third-best job in the U.S., behind software engineer and college professor. The report cites lucrative pay (some make $200,000 and up) and employment flexibility (FAs work for themselves or as employees) as key selling points. FA job training is also becoming more sophisticated, with more than 300 college programs for financial planning, the report says.
