Apparently there is an alternative. We hear so much about how one has to be allocated to stocks in the current market environment. But has this truly been the only answer? And is this dogged dedication to stocks likely to be the best path for investors going forward?

From a stock investor perspective, it makes total sense. The U.S. stock market has and continues to be the best game across the world from a total return and risk control perspective. Since the end of 2014, U.S. stocks (NYSEARCA:VTI) have generated a solid +7% return, including dividends versus developed international stocks (NYSEARCA:EFA) that have effectively been flat with a heavy dose of volatility over the past two years on a currency unhedged basis.
