Generation X consists of middle age through nearing retirement workers ages 36 to 56. Despite growing up in a computer-free world, Gen-X is tech savvy. In terms of size, the millennial generation outnumbers Generation X in the workforce. These employees, however, are established in their careers, and most have dependent children. Many care for family members on both sides of generations, including children nearing or in college, as well as dependent parents. With some approaching retirement age, themselves, financial demands — and stress — on Gen X are high.
