Weschlers Prints & Works of Art Auction was held at 10am on Wednesday, June 12 and featured an intricate wood engraving by the Dutch graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher. The work, Stars (Bool 359) was created in 1948 and sold for $12,000. The dizzying display of star polyhedrons is a captivating example of the artists fascination with geometric planes, symmetry and a mathematical approach to expression.
