Benjamin J. Lavin

Benjamin J. Lavin is a Wealth Planner and Associate Tax Strategist of Wealth Management’s Wealth Planning Advisory Services at Northern Trust in Chicago. In this capacity, he focuses on tax and wealth planning issues of interest to high-net-worth clients and their advisors, with a special emphasis on tax and wealth transfer strategies and tax policy, legislation, strategies, trends, and developments.

Ben earned his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from American University in 2010. He received his law degree, cum laude, from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 2013 and an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 2014.

Ben is an active member of the Chicago, Illinois and American Bar Associations. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
