Raymond James Financial Services, the firm’s independent broker/dealer unit, has recruited an advisor team managing more than $285 million in client assets from LPL Financial. Advisors Tamar “Tammy” Mogilski and Brian Bedford run Legacy Financial Planning in Rochester, N.Y.

The firm, which also has offices in Shelton, Conn., and Oswego, N.Y., was founded while Mogilski and Bedford were at MetLife. They moved to LPL in 2012, when they decided to go independent.

“The people at [Raymond James] really operate with a client-first approach, making sure that everything done is in the best interest of the client,” Mogilski said. “They also care about the advisor, making sure they have the back office support that advisors need to run their practice.”

Mogilski also liked the firm’s technology stack, including its financial planning software.

The team also includes office manager Martha Trumbull, investment consultant Samuel Zito, client service manager Lisa Mercadel, client relations associate Kaitlyn Kuder and digital marketing associate Shayne Mogilski.
