Lisa Crafford, head of business consulting, and Morgan McGovern, director of technology consulting at BNY Mellon | Pershing, have left the company to pursue other opportunities in the industry, according to sources with knowledge of the departures.
Crafford and McGovern did not respond to requests for comment before publication. Pershing declined to comment.
Crafford first joined Pershing in 2015 as a vice president of relationship management. In her role at Pershing, Crafford was responsible for the business consulting team helping the company’s RIA custody clients grow their businesses. She has been a regular speaker at industry events, including Wealth Management EDGE, discussing best practices for attracting young talent, the pathways to leadership and mergers and acquisitions, among other topics.
Prior to joining Pershing, she served as director of business management with FJY Financial, an RIA in the Washington, D.C. metro area, where she was responsible for operations, compliance, technology, human capital, finance, marketing and business strategy. She also founded Cogent Business Advisors, a study group for chief operations officers, and she’s the coordinator for Bob Veres’ practice management conference COO track.
She was also instrumental in crafting a research partnership between Pershing and WMIQ, the research arm of WealthManagement.com. The partnership resulted in the report, Next: The Wealth Management Firm of the Future, a multifaceted look at wealth management firms of the future—how they’re growing, what they’re prioritizing and, in an end-of-year update released this week, what roles are being sought and where talent is being sourced.
Crafford holds an MBA from The College of William and Mary and a bachelor's of business with a concentration in management and French from the University of Technology, Sydney.
McGovern joined Pershing in 2020 as a vice president of technology consulting. Prior to that, she worked as a corporate relations specialist at the CFP Board. McGovern also worked with Crafford at FJY as an associate advisor.
She has a bachelor of science in finance from Virginia Tech, and an MBA from Creighton University.
