Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James, has recruited an advisor team with more than $500 million in client assets and over $3.3 million in annual production from Morgan Stanley. The team, East Coast Advisors, will join the firm's Park Avenue office in New York.
The team includes Managing Director and Client Advisor Todd L. Kissel, Vice President of Investments and Client Advisor Joshua Pasahow, Investment Portfolio Associate Ida Ng, and Senior Client Service Associate John Rivera.
Todd Kissel brings over 30 years of experience from his time at Merrill Lynch, UBS and Citigroup Smith Barney, acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2009. Pasahow began as Kissel’s mentee in 2008 at Citigroup Smith Barney, and subsequently became a senior portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley and Kissel’s business partner.
“When we started our search for a new firm, we knew we wanted one that was completely focused on serving its clients’ needs and putting their interests first," Kissel said in a statement. "But we also wanted a firm that was well capitalized, was conflict free and offered great technology.”
Alex. Brown's New York branch primarily serves wealthy clients and institutions; the team will report to John Sutton.
Raymond James acquired Alex. Brown from Deutsche Bank in 2015 and restored the business’ original name.
