PRESENTER John Williamson Senior Vice President of Innovation & Growth Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network (FiNet) |
MODERATOR David Armstrong Editor in Chief WealthManagement.com |
The world of financial advisors is poised to undergo a major transformation in the next decade driven by a mix of factors including a rise in technology, an ever changing regulatory environment as well as a generational shift among advisors themselves. A quarter of practicing advisors surveyed were considering leaving the industry, selling their practice, merging with another or retiring due to these changes coupled with increased fee pressures — which could require adjustments to their pricing and service models. In all, nearly 100,000 advisors—almost a third of those currently practicing—are expected to exit the business by 2024, according to Cerulli Associates.
To prepare for these changes financial advisors need to be aware of the potential benefits, drawbacks and opportunities associated with retiring, merging or acquiring a book of business.
Attendees of this Webinar will learn:
• The difference between a variety of retirement structures
• Why some financial advisors have a difficult time leaving the industry
• The importance of client communications
• The difference between “Exit Plans” and “Succession Plans”
