According to press reports, Morgan Stanley was the largest tenant in New York’s World Trade Center, which was hit by two airplanes in a terrorist attack, causing collapse of the 110-story, twin-tower complex. According to press reports, Morgan Stanley was the largest tenant in New York’s World Trade Center, which was hit by two airplanes in a terrorist attack, causing collapse of the 110-story, twin-tower complex.

Morgan Stanley has established an emergency contact phone number for employees and their families. The number is 1-888-883-4391.

A statement on Morgan Stanley’s Web site says the south tower was the headquarters for Morgan Stanley’s retail businesses. “We have no information beyond what has been reported in the news. The safety and well being of Morgan Stanley employees are paramount at this time. We are working with local authorities, and we will keep you apprised of developments on Morgan Stanley today and Morgan Stanley connection as we receive information,” the statement said.

Bloomberg is reporting that Morgan Stanley occupied 12.5% of the office space in Tower 2. The firm is headquartered at 1585 Broadway in midtown Manhattan.
