Punning on the iconic phrase, “may the Force be with you,’ May 4 has taken on the identity of Star Wars Day.
Brands of all kinds have gotten in the spirit, and the financial services industry is no exception. But InvestCloud, a provider of cloud-based applets for advisors, is going a step further by launching a new set of applets named BB8 after a droid in the recent “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” movie.
BB8, which the company said is its “most advanced group of applets,” consists of a fully integrated CRM and a suite of client communication, management and automation tools. The suite will live on the InvestCloud Digital Platform, a single portal that InvestCloud says every member of the client relationship team, from portfolio managers to middle/back office professionals to advisors, can use to access technology.
“BB8 and the InvestCloud Digital Platform [are] designed to give both emerging independent advisors and large institutions a custom, cost-effective platform for meeting the demands of all types of clients from daily mobile portfolio views all the way to complex account aggregation and trading,” InvestCloud CEO John Wise said in a statement.
Wise said the InvestCloud CRM coming with BB8 provides a simple view of client data, communications and portfolio down to the tax-lot level in a single digital warehouse, eliminating the need for different systems.
"Wrapping custom Applet capabilities around your firm's entire data eco-system is paramount for differentiating yourself in a digital environment that is pressured by changing advisory fees and automating many middle/back office tasks in a digital experience," Wise said,
InvestCloud launched BB8 at its annual global user conference in Las Vegas in addition to O2, an investment and warehousing product, and Canvas, a personal digital applet framework for clients and advisors to customize their content and experience.
InvestCloud now supports 660 financial institutions which use the applets to manage a combined $1.5 trillion.
