Six Lessons Planners Can Learn from Famous Art Masters

Shared wisdom to apply to your practice.

Hiking the Rocky Mountains along the border of Montana and Canada is always an enchanting experience. At times, the journey can be treacherous with its rugged terrain, unpredictable weather and terrifying possibility of dangerous wildlife. Yet, despite the risks, it remains awe-inspiring, revealing at every turn the beauty and raw power of nature.

Occasionally, hikers will cross paths, and they’ll usually stop to share insights: “What’s the next campsite like?” “Is there water?” “Any signs of grizzly bears?” These brief exchanges remind us that shared wisdom is a gift from those who have walked the trail before us.

In many ways, the world of estate and financial planning is as arduous as hiking the Rockies. For guidance, estate and financial planners could look to some of history’s greatest artists. Artistic masters don’t simply follow the paths laid out by their predecessors; they blaze new trails.

While those artists may not have trekked the Rockies, their journeys of innovation to achieve mastery may offer valuable lessons for professionals dedicated to improving the financial well-being of their clients.

Let’s take a moment to cross paths with a few of these artistic masters.
