The Journal of Financial Planning and The Financial Planning Association named Dr. Stuart Heckman as its new academic editor. Heckman replaces Dr. Barbara O’Neill, who finished her term at the end of December 2019. He is expected to serve the next two terms, which started January 1, 2020.
Heckman comes with accolades from the FPA as a recipient of FPA’s Best Research award. His research has been published in Financial Services Review, Journal of Consumer Affairs, the Journal of Financial Planning and the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning. Heckman also serves on the editorial boards of the Financial Planning Review and the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning.
At the peer-reviewed monthly publication, Heckman will be responsible for reviewing and assessing research manuscripts for the Journal’s double-blind peer review process, and providing leadership to staff.
Heckman will continue his work at Kansas State University as an associate professor and the director of the Personal Financial Planning Ph.D. program. He’s also a fee-only financial planner with CGN Advisors in Manhattan, Kansas.
