Advisors from Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo recently left the wirehouse brokerages to join Baird Private Wealth Management, the advisory business of the employee-owned wealth manager.
David Thuli, who was previously an advisor at Morgan Stanley overseeing $110 million in client assets, joined Baird as a senior vice president, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday. He will be based in the Milwaukee wealth management office.
The Wessel Group, a Raleigh, N.C.-based family team of Paisley Wessel and her son, Cory, also announced on Wednesday that they joined the private wealth management group. Paisley Wessel, the director of the group, and her son both previously worked for Wells Fargo.
Last month, Baird named Laura Thurow the successor to Russell Schwei, the firm’s chief operations officer who plans to retire at the end of 2019 after 34 years with the company. Thurow was promoted to Director of Wealth Solutions and Operations of the Private Wealth Business and will serve as a member of Baird’s executive committee in her new role. She is one of three committee members who joined Baird as interns and remained with the firm, the company said.
In all, Baird Private Wealth Management has approximately 890 advisors working out of 97 locations in 30 states. Total client assets with the firm are $136 billion.
