CHICAGO—Two health care firms, Meridian Health Plan and Medline Industries Inc., have signed leases to expand office space in Chicago.
Meridian has leased 19,456 sq. ft. at 333 S. Wabash, about three times more space than the company occupies at 222 N. LaSalle. CBRE’s Jon Milonas, Peter Livaditis and Mark Collins represented Meridian in the transaction, and Scott Merz and Greg Gerber with Studley represented the landlord, Continental Casualty Co.
Medline, a manufacturer and distributor of health care supplies, is moving its e-commerce and information systems departments to 11,000 sq. ft. at 100 S. Wacker. The firm is based in Mundelein, Ill.
The company plans to add 35-40 new positions in e-commerce, mobility, systems analysis and data warehousing in the coming year and expects the Chicago office to double in size in the next 3-5 years, according to a statement by Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “Considering Chicago’s rapidly growing pool of highly-skilled, talented workers, Medline’s e-commerce and IS expansion to the city will prove to be a rewarding investment,” he said.
