Frank J. Pasquerilla, chairman and CEO of Johnstown, Pa.-based Crown American Realty Trust, died on April 21 from a massive stroke. Pasquerilla was 72.
Pasquerilla, an ICSC trustee from 1983 to 1989, recently said he would not retire as previously announced, but would remain chairman of the firm. Pasquerilla's son, Mark E. Pasquerilla, was unanimously elected to succeed his father as chairman, CEO and president of the company.
Crown American owns, acquires, develops and operates 27 regional malls in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, New Jersey, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. Pasquerilla built his first shopping center in 1953 in Johnstown and became president of Crown American the same year. He bought the company in 1961.
Pasquerilla is survived by his wife, Sylvia, and two children, Mark and Leah.
