David Canter, the former head of RIAs and family offices at Fidelity Institutional and ephemeral president of Bluespring Wealth Partners, has joined Invest.Green, a membership-based network aiming to democratize green investing, as senior advisor and chief business development officer for its upcoming special purpose acquisition company.

"David’s reputation precedes him as an admired and influential expert whose contacts and reputation are second to none. His understanding of the RIA industry will provide Invest Green invaluable insight and access,” Invest Green CEO Andrew McLean said in a statement.

Canter stepped down as president of Bluespring, the RIA acquisition arm of Kestra Holdings, in 2023. In February of last year, he became a strategic advisor to the alternative investment platform CAIS. Last June, he joined the board of directors at Parallel Advisors, an RIA with more than $8 billion in client assets. He is also the CEO of Finley Point Strategy LLC, a consulting firm for the wealth, asset management and fintech ecosystem.

Prior to joining Bluespring, Canter spent 13 years at Fidelity Institutional, where he led the RIA and family office segments.

Camas, Wash.-based Invest.Green seeks to bring sustainable strategies once reserved for institutions to accredited investors. It’s a membership-based network of companies, retail investors, financial advisors and other stakeholders in the green economy. It aims to create a model similar to that of the Principles for Responsible Investment, which has over 5,000 members. Invest.Green provides an independent platform for these companies to get their stories out to retail investors and their advisors.
