Raymond James Adds $580M Team From Wells Fargo

The group of four advisors will run Raymond James & Associates’ first location in Monroeville, Pa.

A team of four advisors based in Pennsylvania are joining Raymond James & Associates, the firm’s employee channel, from Wells Fargo Advisors, where they managed $580 million in client assets.

Brian Heberle, Dustin Helm, John Ferguson and Craig Cacini will operate as Heberle Helm Ferguson Group of Raymond James under the new partnership, and the group’s new office will be Raymond James & Associates’ first location in Monroeville, Pa.

The team worked with business owners, corporate executives and families at Wells Fargo, and they’ll also be joined by client service associates Leslie J. Hewitt and Jeffrey Weaverling.

According to Helm, who will be a senior vice president of investments, Raymond James is offering the team “fluid work-life and time-saving technology” that will help them better serve clients how and when they’re needed.

“We’ve already seen a significant boost to our team’s workflow through flexible access to secure home workstations, as well as easy-to-use tools for managing multiple orders and those enhancing our visibility into connected client accounts,” Helm said.

Helm has nearly three decades of experience in the industry, beginning with Shearson Lehman EF Hutton in 1993 before long stints with Smith Barney and Wells Fargo before making the move to Raymond James. Heberle began his career with Wheat First Butcher Singer, before also joining Smith Barney in 1998 and later moving to Wells Fargo in 2009. Ferguson has more than 36 years in financial services, including10 years at Smith Barney and 13 with Wells Fargo, while Cacini has been in the space for seven years.

Raymond James added a number of large teams in the last month. In late April, it announced a group of four advisors out of Forest, Va., managing about $340 million in assets would be joining the firm from Merrill Lynch.

Raymond James also announced three separate moves to the firm from Edward Jones last month. The firm welcomed a trio of advisors out of Medford, Ore., from Edward Jones to form SilverTree Wealth Partners; they’d previously managed about $180 million in assets. Logan Skinner, a Longview, Texas–based advisor with more than $230 million in managed assets, moved from Edward Jones to form Axis Private Wealth. Kirkland, Wash.–based financial advisors Keith Haller and Cory Shepherd joined Raymond James from Edward Jones, where they managed about $327 million in assets.
