Portland-Based Vista Capital Partners Names New CEO

Dougal Williams has been with the $2.5 billion wealth management firm since 2004, previously serving as chief wealth officer and lead advisor.

The $2.5 billion Vista Capital Partners has a new CEO in Dougal Williams, a veteran of the Portland-based firm since 2004.

Williams is succeeding previous CEO Doug Johanson, who is taking over as chairman of the firm’s board of directors. Williams previously was Vista's chief wealth officer and lead advisor, working with individual, corporate and nonprofit clients. He’ll continue to lead the firm’s wealth committee in addition to his new role.

“Dougal’s collective experience at Vista—as advisor, lead advisor, chief investment officer, and chief wealth officer—make him uniquely qualified to lead Vista as we strive to become Oregon’s most admired wealth management firm,” Johanson said.

Founded in 2001, Vista works with clients who have $2 million or more to invest. The firm has 35 employees and works with nearly 600 clients, offering investment management and financial and legacy planning.

“I am excited to lead Vista into this next chapter as we work to deliver successful investment experiences for a growing community of clients,” Williams said. “Our mission is to build happier and more prosperous lives, and in doing so we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact on our community.

Co-founders Johanson and Michael O’Reilly are still involved in the company, which is 100% employee-owned and has 11 owners/partners.
