A group of financial advisors managing $520 million in client assets has moved their book of business from Cambridge Investment Research to LPL Financial.
Premier Investments of Iowa, led by President Jeff Johnston and Vice President Brock Renner, has joined LPL’s broker/dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms. The group includes six other advisors and six client and office support team members.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa,-based firm, founded in 1989, markets itself via TV and radio shows.
Johnston, who has been in the investment industry for over 27 years, hosts two of the firm’s live Premier Financial Hour radio shows that air on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. on WMT 600AM and 7-8 p.m. on WHO 1040AM, local Iowa radio stations. He’s also a panelist on the Financial Perspectives TV Show that airs Sundays at 11:30 a.m. on KCRG Channels 9 and 9.2.
He said the firm will consider potential acquisitions as a means to grow in the future.
“LPL was instrumental in helping us identify this potential, and they have the expertise and resources that can support us,” Johnston said, in a statement.
