Salter Financial Group, a Beaumont, Texas-based team with $100 million in client assets, has rejoined LPL Financial after spending the past five years at Cetera Financial. The team, which was with LPL from 2006 to 2014, said they decided to come back after noticing a turnaround and change of culture at the independent broker/dealer.
“I’m convinced, from everything I’ve seen, that LPL is a strong company that cares deeply about its advisors,” founder Phillip Salter said. “I’m especially excited about the technology evolution and new capabilities that will help us be more efficient serving our clients.”
The firm also includes Blake Worthey and Clovis Van Houten, as well as assistant Dianne Walker. They focus on providing retirement plans and IRAs for plant and refinery workers.
Earlier this year, E. Martin von Känel, founder of Patriot Wealth Management in Torrance, Calif., made a similar jump back to LPL after nine years with Cetera. He cited a change in culture and improvement in technology for going back.
