Other than the 500 day war, any other insights from people coming out of training programs of wirehouses?

Wire training programs are all based on networking, niche groups, etc. They prepare youprovide a holostic approach to financial advice, which is fine if that is what you want.

Wire programs prepare you to create fancy proposals on their fee based platforms. All of this is well and good.     They do not teach you to prospect, sell and close. Read the 500 day war, read other posts in this forum. There is a ton of information here, you just have to find it.

Get on the phone and if you speak to 40 people a day you’ll be fine. If you don’t you better be a 1 in 100 kind of guy.

I think a lot of FA’s blocked out their first several years - almost like it was child abuse. I think I got one straight answer from a manager that said, “12 hours day of cold calling and 5 years before you make a good living”.

At least the military has it right, they tell how hard it is and you experience how hard it is. I never got that impression when I was interviewing for b/d.
