Hi - I am a public relations practitioner specializing in working with broker/dealer firms. Most recently, I worked with one of the largest firms generating national and local media coverage of the company itself and their thousands of brokers in the field. I’m seeking an opportunity to do the same with a new client. If you think some media exposure could help your company or your business specifically, or if you’re interested in hearing about my past experiences, let me know…

You can work with my firm - it’s called Go Away Investments.

Welcome!

It’s nice to see a new “face” around here.  Especially somebody with a unique perspective and skillset.

You’ll have to forgive my friend BrokerRecruit for being grumpy.  We’ve all been a little odd ever since a passing tornado dropped a house on NASD Newbie.

As one online networker to another, may I make a suggestion?  The best way to win business through online forums is to:

Keep current with the board topics. Contribute to the conversation by giving good, practical and free advice whenever possible. Help everybody, whether or not they are potential clients. Expect nothing in return. Do this for several months and eventually the referrals will come.

Cheers!
Jeff

Are you a boy or a girl?

I agree with Jeff. Contribute items of interest and create value. Biz will come your way.

I disagree.  Those who prowl these forums are remarkably unrepresentative of the industry as a whole.

As best I can tell there is not a one of them netting enough to afford a PR effort--hell, most of them are working out of their car and a corner of their basement hoping their spouse will buy them a $300 copier/printer/fax for Christmas.

I guess I’ve just been jaded by all of the spammers that come here trying to peddle their wares and services.

Some of us are netting enough that we don't NEED a PR effort.

You are making all themoney your family could ever use?

Actually, I've talked to several bona-fide large producers who either read or contribute to this board regularly.

I can only assume that for every successful broker that has contacted me through this forum there are many others who have not done so (yet).

I can't say whether or not we're a true representation of the industry.  But you shouldn't assume that everybody on this forum is somehow below-average.

I’m above average.

Actually, I’ve found an inverse relationship between the number of accounts somebody has and their actual production.

Oct 11, 2006 7:13 pm

Not me.  I have 4000 accounts with an average size of $10,000.

I am a million dollar producer.

How large is your team?

Oct 11, 2006 9:20 pm

Well my front man is about 10 inches by 2 1/2 inches and his two companions are 3 inches in diameter.
